Channel 4 Launches Shorts Series with Samsung Home Appliances
22 October 2015
Channel 4 today announces new short form series My Pop-up Restaurant in partnership with Samsung Home Appliances – presented by supper club aficionados Radio 1 DJ Alice Levine and TV presenter Laura Jackson.
The six part series, produced by Atomized Entertainment, launches on 2nd November exclusively on All 4 for Channel 4's unique digital Shorts platform.
My Pop-up Restaurant follows six aspirational home cooks from across the UK, who dream of becoming professionals as they open up their very own supper clubs. The passionate amateur cooks will as part of the programme be creating a menu and charging guests to attend their supper club, putting their culinary skills to the ultimate test.
The show's ambitious chefs include Matt Adlard AKA "The Bare Chest Baker" who, inspired by his father's Michelin star success, is looking to launch his own culinary career; Arshad Damree who is keen to promote his native Mauritian cuisine and health and food blogger Pamela Bustard.
Each cook will be provided with a distinctive space in which to create and serve their signature menu, including a kitchen featuring a selection of top of the range Samsung Home Appliances taken from the Samsung Chef Collection and Samsung Fridge range – product placed as part of the partnership.
Seasoned supper club cooks Alice and Laura will be at the side of each participant every step of the way, helping them to deliver the ultimate supper club in the hope of kick starting their culinary career.
The new series forms part of Samsung Home Appliances' one year, seven figure partnership with Channel 4 announced earlier this year which includes the brand's biggest ever investment in TV sponsorship.
My Pop-up Restaurant with Samsung Home Appliances was commissioned by Channel 4 Commissioning Editor, Multiplatform and Online Video Adam Gee, and is being produced by branded content production specialists Atomized Entertainment who were responsible for the production of British Gas Shorts series Home Truths.
The Shorts partnership was brokered by Michelle Halpin, Channel 4's Partnership Account Manager and Karl Newman Head of Sponsorships and Partnerships at LiquidThread, the content division of Starcom Mediavest Group (SMG).
My Pop-up Restaurant is the latest addition to Channel 4's collection of advertiser funded Shorts which includes major partnerships with British Gas, Foster's, Scope, Sony, Rimmel London and Alfa Romeo.
