The 2018 4 Sales Upfront took place last night (4th July) at London’s iconic Roundhouse. Over 1200 guests from across the UK advertising industry joined us for our first ever Summer version of the annual event – and it was our most sensational one yet.

Channel 4 CEO Alex Mahon and Director Of Programmes Ian Katz updated the guests on the future programming launches for the business, including an extra £10m for E4, a sneak peek of Pure – a new drama about a woman who can’t stop thinking about sex and a brand new twist on a dating show called Flirty Dancing. Chief Commercial Officer Jonathan Allan reminded us that TV was in rude health, with Channel 4 performing strongly through the first half of the year. We announced a brand new trial of an advertising product, called Contextual Moments, with a little help from our friend Drew Povey.

After the show, guests dived into a world of Channel 4 programming – testing out their skills on our BT Sport and Channel 4 Sport simulators, enjoying delectable delights from the UKTV food carts, getting messy in the Bake Off decorating challenge, hanging out in the First Dates bar or getting close to their favourite celeb in Celebs Go Speed Dating.
