A word from Channel 4's Head of Drama:

"We are so excited to be back in production with a raft of brilliant new dramas.  Highlights will include IT’S A SIN by Russell T Davies starring Keeley Hawes and Olly Alexander (lead singer of Years and Years) – an outspoken, entertaining and heart-breaking drama about a gang of friends living it up in London in the 80s, against the backdrop of the HIV epidemic.

We also have the 4th series of ACKLEY BRIDGE, returning with a new cast, and a brand new 30’ format to better reflect the way young people consume TV.

BEFORE WE DIE, starring Lesley Sharpe is an edge-of-your-seat police thriller about a female police officer whose son goes undercover in a dangerous crime family - a remake of the highly successful Swedish series.  But the jewel in the crown is 90s set true crime drama MY NAME IS LIZZIE starring Niamh Algar and Eddie Marsan, a series about the botched investigation into the murder of Rachel Nickell.

CLOSE TO ME, starring Connie Nielson and Christopher Eccleston, a  psychological thriller about a woman who must piece together the truth of the last missing year of her life after a fall down the stairs (or was she pushed?)

Finally we’ve got the first terrestrial UK broadcast of THE GREAT, starring Elle Fanning and ex-Skins star Nicholas Hoult, a high-octane, outrageous, feminist take on the young life of Catherine the Great, by the writer of The Favourite. The series has been a big hit in the US on Hulu.

These dramas are bold, fearless and all have something to say about who we are today. But they are also hooky and entertaining, with recognisable stars. Audiences are incredibly important to us at Channel 4 and our ambition is to make a splash!"

- Caroline Hollick. Head of Drama, Channel 4
